According to a new study conducted across many countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, the most difficult risk to manage is the reputational risk. When studying and examining the new emerging risks, it was found that more than 80% of the companies and businesses felt that their reputation as their most significant asset and they were always struggling to protect it. There are a good number of reasons as to why companies often found it very challenging to manage reputational risk

Majority of the companies are not able to assess the financial impact of reputational risk on their business. They felt that there was little information and practical advice on how to manage the risk. It was more difficult to measure the risk as compared to the other traditional ones. There is a sense of confusion and uncertainty prevailing regarding the managing of the reputation risk. About 65% of companies felt that they were insufficiently covered for reputational risk from an insurance perspective. They also believed that the social media had an important role to play in the reputation of their business. They need to sharpen their crisis management so as to keep pace with the faster paced times.

The upcoming International Human Factors and Ergonomics Society that we come across is going to reveal specific attributes of email users that are more vulnerable to scams and  attacks in the virtual world. Their cognitive, behavioral and perceptual traits were looked into to draw some conclusions. The researchers have found that women and those who are introverted or overconfident are likely to be an easy victim for these scammers. They are not able to make out those fraudulent emails and fake correspondence, with an ulterior motive to get passwords and credit card information, or to send viruses. These victims were not only overconfident but had full confidence in their ability to remain protected.

Is It Ok To Buy Banks?

Dick Bove, one of the prominent advocates for bank stocks believes that buying banks can be very risky. He thinks that the investors are getting a little too enthusiastic about banks and that is worrying. The financial sector companies have shown a growth and rise in their earnings, but, not all profits are created equally. Banks have shown good profits in areas like sales of assets and accounting changes, but these are non-core assets. As for the core areas, the results are not too impressive. The regulatory environment is not so promising for these bread-and-butter banks.

Who Is Going To Be the Next Fed Chief?

It is Yellen t and not Summers, as the next Fed chief. According to a survey, President Obama is expected to pick Janet Yellen as the next chairman of the Federal Reserve after Ben Bernanke. The Fed survey was organized by CNBC’ so as to get a feel of the President’s pick. Majority of the participants in the survey believe that Obama is going to choose Yellen. Ben Bernanke, who is the current chairman, has his term up in January. About 25% of the participants in the survey believed that Larry Summers, the former Treasury Secretary will be the next Fed chief.  About 12 % believed that Obama should reappoint Bernanke.
